I am a primarily a collage artist. I like to take
many different thnigs and combine them to make something new. I borrow images and photographs from many places....on
the web, books, magazines, old photographs, old newspapers, sheet music, and things I find at garage sales and flea
markets. If possible, I try to give credit where credit is due to whoever the artist or photographer is or was.
I alter the images to make them something other than what they originally were.
"Altered Art" is a very popular term these days and it has opened up a whole new area of FUN art. Not only are photographs
used, but all sorts of found objects and what some would call "junk" is now being used for art. It is the ultimate in
recycling!
ABOUT
THE MEDIUMS I USE AND FRAMING:
The majority of my work is done on stretched canvas in standard
sizes. All of my canvases are varnished with an acrylic water-based varnish. I also do watercolors and layered
acrylics on paper. These will need to be framed and matted. Monoprints and watercolor batiks are on paper and will also
need to be framed. Digital art is professionally printed on high quality photographic paper and is sold unframed.
Most of my frames are done in a smooth black wood with no carving or ornamentation. This gives the
painting a sleek contemporary look. If anything else has been used, it will be listed under the title of the painting.
